The Mako boat shoe is a classic design featuring a 360-degree lacing system with rust-proof eyelets and a logo patch on the tongue. It also has a padded tongue and collar for added comfort. The dual-density bottom with cushion midsole provides under-foot comfort, while the shock-absorbing EVA heel enhances overall comfort. The non-marking rubber outsole with razor-cut Wave-Siping provides excellent traction.

Paul Sperry, an avid sailor and hobbyist inventor, noticed the remarkable stability of his cocker spaniel, Prince, even at a full run on the icy crust of the snow. Inspired, Paul rushed back to his laboratory to create something similar.

Using rubber pieces, a razor blade, and an ordinary sneaker, Paul quickly assembled the prototype of the world's first boat shoe. Subsequent designs produced the Authentic Original, now recognized as the original Sperry Top-Sider. Since 1935, Sperry Top-Sider has become the leading footwear brand for water enthusiasts. They introduced the world's first siped rubber outsole for non-marking traction and developed advanced technical materials to combat the elements, establishing themselves as the forefront of high-performance amphibious footwear.
